Woof Woof

Do you have a family pet? What kind of pet do you have? Over the years, my husband and I have been "mommy and daddy" to 2 dogs, 7 cats, 1 fish, and 1 rabbit. Of course, not all of them are with us anymore, and we now have one dog, Braddock, and two cats, Zeus and Hades.

In 2006, US Statistics showed that in American homes, there were 72 million dogs and 82 million cats, not including all the other pets. Wow!

Do you think that Happiness is Pets? I certainly think that our lives are better off because we have pets. I love my dog and two cats, and they are considered members of our family. In K9 Magazine, a recent article stated that:

A recent MORI poll has revealed that dogs bring more happiness into people's lives than 'steady relationships' and 'job satisfaction'. Owning a dog came top of the happiness index, with 81% of the 2000 people surveyed stating that their happiness "significantly improved" upon getting a dog.

I think that our dog brings as much happiness as he does strife! He certainly has been a challenge for the 5.5 years that we have had him, but we wouldn't get rid of him for anything. We always miss him when he is gone at the Veterinarian for surgery, or at the kennel while we are on vacation. Happiness surely is Pets.
