Zeusy, Our FlufferNutter

Here are some pictures of our Zeusy. We love him to bits. We do have another cat, Hades, and a dog...Braddock, but Zeus is the funny one (Hades likes to keep to himself and hides all day). He loves to lay on his back with his paws folded. He is a pure-bred Maine Coone, and one year old. Maine Coones can take up to 5 years to mature, so he will get a lot bigger than this.

please excuse the quality of the photos, they were taken on my cell phone.

What kind of pets do you have? I love cats. Zeus and Hades were my birthday presents last year. Braddock was my birthday present for my 23d birthday. Notice a trend? lol I hope I don't end up with a fish this year.

I have a 7 year old Maine Coon named Sam (the Wonder Cat) who now tips the scales at an impressive 26 pounds (he's dropped 2 pounds in the past year on his diet). Because he is a rescue, his personality is a tad warped (He loves ME and me alone - and that love is intense and demanding and wants exclusivity) but I absolutely love every piece of fur on his little (?) body. In fact, he is the love of my life.

The thing about Maine Coons is that coat of theirs. I can comb enough off of Sam at one sitting to knit myself another cat! But Sam wants me all to himself. He was 16 months old when I got him and I was his 4th home. He had never been to a vet, never had one shot, never had a secure and safe place to sleep, didn't even have his own name. And he'd been abused by a little child. I started to snuggle with him and the amazed look on his face nearly made me cry!

Zeus is only a year old, and he always requires grooming. we've considered trimming the hair on his bottom too, i am sure you know why! lol He doesnt yet have the tufts of hair on his ears, but I wasn't sure how long those took to show up. Yours is so big!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I clip Sam hindquarters, under the tail and his bum regularly! He sleeps with me, after all! And one time he hopped up on the bed and I went "phew!" and he was very offended!
